Canada Emergency Response Benefit – CERB

Today, the previously announced Emergency Care Benefit and Emergency Support Benefit programs have been replaced with a combined Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB).

All Canadians who lost a job, are quarantined, caring for the sick or caring for children, are eligible to apply for this benefit. The application portal is expected to be implemented in early April. The benefit is up to $2,000 per month for up to four months, and can be expected 10 days after application, according to the press release issued today.
