After working for three summers at an accounting firm in my northern hometown of Cochrane, Ontario, I was sure that public accounting was the place for me. I enjoyed the challenge of the actual accounting and tax work but loved the opportunity to meet clients from a variety of industries, including some audits of hospitals and school boards in very remote, northern communities. I then landed my first co-op placement with Hendry Warren LLP and I never left! It immediately felt like home and I have had endless opportunities to expand my knowledge of assurance and taxation while developing long-lasting connections with clients along the way.
My passion is helping entrepreneurs and new business owners navigate their first few months, years, and major milestones.
I am active in the community and have worked with great organizations like the Kiwanis Club and the Heron Emergency Food Centre. I am currently the Vice Chair and Treasurer of Roger Neilson House.
Michelle joined HWLLP in 2012 as a co-op student from the University of Ottawa and was hired on full-time in 2014. She is a member of CPA Canada and CPA Ontario after obtaining her designation in 2016. Michelle became a Partner at the firm in 2023.
